Does ULEZ affect driving to Heathrow? Here is what you pay and how parking fits.

Heathrow Airport sits inside the London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ), which expanded across all Greater London boroughs in August 2023. A non-compliant vehicle pays £12.50 a day to drive to the terminals. Most petrol cars registered after 2005 and diesels after 2015 are compliant and pay nothing.

ULEZ is a charge for driving a non-compliant vehicle, not for parking. Check your vehicle on Transport for London's ULEZ checker before you travel. If it is compliant, ULEZ adds nothing to your Heathrow trip.

Do you pay ULEZ to drive to Heathrow?

You pay the £12.50 daily ULEZ charge only if your vehicle is not ULEZ-compliant. Compliant vehicles pay nothing. The charge is per day of driving in the zone, so a non-compliant car pays for the day out and the day back.

Some off-airport compounds sit outside the Greater London boundary; parking there and shuttling in can reduce the days your own vehicle drives inside the zone. Confirm the compound's location before relying on this.
